The Lebanese Kaak bread (Which in Lebanon is called Ka'ak or Ka'ak or Kaek or Ka'ek or could be heard as Kaake or Kaakeh or Kaaki ...) was born during the 19th century. Legend says that it was inspired by the Simit; a Turkish bread in circular form encrusted with sesame, or different types of seeds, also said to be inspired by the Jerusalem Kaak bread.
As the bagel represents a part of the Polish culinary heritage (and recently American), the Pretzel that of Germany, the Simit that of Turkey, even the Pan Bagnat for the Nice region ... The Kaak bread is part of the Lebanese culinary heritage , especially that of Street Food.
Popularly sold by street vendors, the Kaak bread has become more like a Lebanese sandwich that can be consumed throughout the day, and on any occasion.
